Our family had the wonderful opportunity to host my good friends Paul Dalgleish and his wife Helen for 3 weeks in mid June.
I first met Paul in February 2011 while playing together in the final group of the final round in the City of Dunedin Legends Tour tournament in Dunedin New Zealand.
Ever since that initial meeting Paul and Helen have been very generous and hospitable in hosting me at their home in Queensland whenever I am down under playing and there is any time off from tournaments. We also share accommodations by renting houses with a group of other players when we are travelling in other areas of New Zealand and Australia.
So I had the chance to reciprocate and show them the sites of Southern Ontario and not to mention the great golf courses in our area.
We travelled from Niagara Falls to Ottawa for sightseeing and played golf in those areas as well as around the Greater Toronto Area.
These golf games were very enjoyable with an undertone of competitiveness because neither one of us likes to be on the short end of the stick. What it also did for me personally was prepare me for future tournaments and Paul illustrated first hand how good a short game he has by hitting it close every time from inside 50 yards. It was quite a show.
Thanks again Paul and Helen for taking the time out of your schedule to come to Canada and visit with our family. We had a wonderful time together.
