I had the opportunity to play in the Dutch Senior Masters.
The tournament was played on The Dutch Golf Course, which also plays host to the KLM Open on the European Tour.
The golf course is located 50km from Amsterdam and is listed in the top 100 courses in Europe. It is a wonderful inland links style design that plays really long not to mention it is also situated below sea level, which reduces how far the golf ball will fly.
The weather was a real challenge all week with 11C as the high for the week and the winds at between 40 and 70 km per hour, plus it rained all because we were influenced by the tail end of a passing hurricane.
As always it was great to see so many friends and catch up on how everyone is doing. The final round score of 68 was the highlight of the week. Solid putting and a strong short game provided the catalyst for the round.
This will be the final tournament that I will play on this year’s European Senior Tour.
Now my focus will be to prepare for the 2018 European Senior Tour Qualifying School in Portugal.
As always thank you so much for following my golf exploits and for writing to me with support and encouragement throughout the year.
